YOUr BOUDOIR PHOTOSHOOT

preparation timeline

A boudoir photoshoot is a unique and empowering experience that allows women to celebrate their beauty, confidence, and sensuality. To ensure that you’re well-prepared and can make the most of this opportunity, I’ve put together a comprehensive timeline of things to do before your boudoir shoot. From selecting outfits to pampering yourself, this checklist will help you create a seamless and enjoyable experience that results in stunning images you’ll cherish forever.

Book a consult call   During this conversation, we’ll discuss the details, answer any questions you have, and secure a date that works perfectly for you.

Set up your pre-session payment plan   *Images and products are not included your session fee*

Payment plans are not required, however, the $550 minimum product payment is due before your session. The $550 is applied towards your total for products.

Now, this is where I encourage two things for clients:

  1. Set up a pre-session payment plan. With it, you can take your time with payments. These payment plans are in-house, interest-free, and completely customizable to best fit your needs and budget.
  2. Review the Investment Guide included in your confirmation email. It’ll give you a good idea of your price point and what you’d like to shoot for. If you do choose what you’d like and want to set up a payment plan for it, we can do that as well. Then, you won’t have to worry about any expenses all at once at the Ordering Session!

Your boudoir session is encouraged to be booked at least 3-5 weeks before you need your final images and artwork. Also, keep the timeline in mind should you choose to set up a pre-session payment plan.

Inspiration & outfit planning Begin brainstorming ideas for your outfits. Consider a mix of lingerie, comfortable loungewear, accessories, and any special items that have personal meaning to you or that you’d like to be captured. And reach out to me too– I’m happy to help with outfit selection. It’s my fave!

Fitness & skincare routine  If desired, start a consistent fitness routine and skincare regimen to help you feel your best the day of the shoot.

3-4 weeks before

Shop for outfits Start shopping for the outfits you’ve planned.  Choose pieces that make you feel confident and complement your body type. Need ideas on where to shop? Your confirmation email will have my Ultimate Lingerie List, a comprehensive  of lingerie-carrying companies along with price and size ranges.

1-2 weeks before

Finalize your outfits Ensure you have all your outfits, accessories, and props ready. Double-check that everything fits well and aligns with your vision.

Grooming  Schedule any necessary grooming appointments, such as waxing, threading, or haircuts. This ensures you’ll feel polished and confident. If you decide you’d like that sunless glow, now’s the time to book your spray tan! Be sure to schedule it no less than 2 days before your session.

Hydration & nutrition Maintain a balanced diet and make it a point to keep yourself hydrated daily. This promotes healthy skin and overall well-being, which will leave you feeling less bloated and leave your skin with a natural glow.

Pack your bag   Organize and pack all the outfits, accessories, and items you’ll need for the shoot. Include any special props that add a personal touch.

Final touches   If you decide to get a spray tan, this is the day to do it! Get a manicure and pedicure if desired, and perform any final skincare treatments to achieve a radiant glow.

Let it go, Louie  Don’t let the fear talk yourself out of this experience. You’ll be happy you booked!

Day of your shoot

Get ready  As you’re getting ready, don’t forget your bag, packed with the accessories, shoes– whatever you need to make the session more you. Also, be sure to:

  • Moisturize your skin
  • Arrive with clean, dry hair and a clean, moisturized face
  • Wear loose clothes to prevent clothing indentions in your skin

Arrive early   The session time scheduled is the time you’ll arrive. I always recommend getting there at least five minutes early so we can get the party started right on time!

Relax & enjoy!  The nerves are totally normal, but try your best to let them go. You and I can talk about how nervous you are, we can even dance it out, but we will not be giving into the fear. I’ve seen it all, I’ve heard it all so trust me, it’s normal and I will guide you every step of the way.

  • Relax as best as you can
  • Channel any anxiety and tell yourself it’s excitement. It tricks your body into thinking you’re more excited than anxious. Trust me, it works
  • Take a moment to soak all the pampering in

My entire goal is for you to leave my studio feeling confident, bold, proud, beautiful, and empowered. Allow yourself to relax so we can let your empowerment shine through.

After the shoot

Selecting your favorites Immediately after your session ends, we will schedule your Ordering Session- either in-person or via Zoom.

At this time, we’ll review your fully-retouched images together, select your favorites, and finalize your order.

Embrace the empowerment Use the images as a reminder of your strength, beauty, and the empowering experience you’ve had. Share your journey if you’re comfortable, and celebrate your journey towards self-love.

A boudoir photoshoot is a powerful opportunity to embrace your confidence, sensuality, and elegance. By following this comprehensive preparation timeline, you’ll ensure that you’re well-prepared, comfortable, and ready to make magic in front of the camera!

ARE YOU READY FOR AN EXPERIENCE YOU'LL NEVER FORGET?
