While summer is the season of fun in the sun, it can also flair up a great deal of body image issues and insecurities. And the bombarding messages from the world shouting at us to get the perfect bikini body or slim up for summer‚ absolutely do not help the matter either.
This season’s focus on pool parties, Ship Island days, crop tops, and bathing suits can quickly take a toll on the confidence you have in your own skin. Sound familiar? You’re not alone!
Because I know exactly how women tend to be so hard on themselves, I wanted to share 10 ways women can celebrate and amplify their self-love this summer. From embracing your body to exploring new experiences, this blog post is designed to empower you to create a summer filled with self-discovery and self-acceptance.

This is obviously my number one tip I give to any woman looking to build confidence! Experience the transformative power of a magazine-style glamour boudoir portrait session. Capture your beauty in a safe and empowering environment, celebrating your individuality and sensuality. A boudoir session is an incredible way to embrace your body, boost self-confidence, and create lasting memories that reflect your authentic self.

Practice Mindful Self-Care
Set aside time each day for self-care activities that nourish your mind, body, and soul. Whether it’s a long bubble bath, meditation, journaling, or indulging in your favorite hobby, make self-care a priority. By dedicating time to yourself, you can recharge and show yourself the love you deserve.

Sidenote: The Annual Martini Shakedown is held every July and is the biggest fundraiser for Make-A-Wish of South Mississippi. It’s my favorite summer event filled with music, food, cocktails and a silent auction– and it’s also perfect for networking!

Explore the Gulf Coast's Natural Beauty
Coastal Mississippi (aka the Mississippi Gulf Coast) offers a myriad of outdoor attractions to inspire self-love and appreciation for nature’s wonders. Take leisurely walks along front beach in Ocean Springs, rent a boat or kayak to Deer Island, or go hiking at any one of our local greenways. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery and let nature’s tranquility awaken your soul.

Practice Positive Affirmations
As cheesy as it may sound, you can boost your self-esteem with daily positive affirmations. Remind yourself of your strengths, beauty, and worthiness of love and happiness. Repeat affirmations such as “I am beautiful,” “I am deserving of love,” and “I am confident” to cultivate a positive mindset.
